Hip hop heads I got something
different for ya! In our previous blogs we took a trip down memory lane and
relived some of our hip hop legends and greats. In this article we will
discover some present day lyrical fire. Our highlighted artist will be Justin
Scott better known as Big K.R.I.T., Big K.R.I.T. (K.R.I.T. stands for King
Remembered In Time) started out by gaining a nice underground following and
releasing a powerhouse of mixtapes including “See Me on Top vol 1, 2 and 3”, “Hood
Fame” and “The Last King”. Those mixtapes included noteworthy tracks like “Hometown
Hero”, "Send Me An Angel", "No Wheaties" and "Moon
& Stars". During this timeframe Big K.R.I.T. also did a bit off
collaborating including a track on the very popular mixtape Kush and Orange
Juice by Wiz Khalifa. The track titled "Glass
House" included Wiz and Curren$y. In
the year of 2011 big things started to happen for Big K.R.I.T., Including
getting featured on the cover of XXL along with Meek Mill, Kendrick Lamar,
Yelawolf, Mac Miller and many other artist. Next up Big K.R.I.T. released the
highly acclaimed mixtape “Return of 4Eva” in which he also doubled as a
prodecer as he produced most of the mixtape.
The mixtape included big name artist
such as “David Banner”, “Chamillionaire”, “Ludacris” and “Bun B”. Some amazing
tracks from the mixtape include “Dreamin”, "My Sub", and "Sookie Now". Another great mixtape
that came out down the line is the very well orchestrated “4Eva N A Day”. Many
phenomenal and lyrically smooth tracks on there include “Me And My Old School”, “Country Rap Tunes”, “Handwriting”,
“Temptation” and “Boobie Miles”. In 2012 Big K.R.I.T. released his debut album “Live from the Underground” which got much
praise from rap critics and hip hop heads alike. There’s many tracks to vibe to
on the album but some of the most noteworthy tracks are "I Got This",
"Money on the Floor", "Rich Dad, Poor Dad", "If I
Fall", "Hydroplaning",
"Porchlight", "Praying Man" and "My Sub (Pt. 2:
The Jackin')". Many great artist collaborate on the album including “8Ball
and MJG”, “2 Chainz”, “Melanie Fiona”, “Bun B”, “Devin the Dude”, “Anthony
Hamilton”, “B.B. King” and “Ludacris”. Big
K.R.I.T. would also release some tracks with super producer and hip hop guru 9th
Wonder. 9th Wonder who is known for creating amazing beats for many
artist as well as producing and running his label Jamla Records is known for
his phenomenal soul samples and well orchestrated beats. The track they collabo
on is a track from the upcoming mixtape "K.R.I.T. (King Remembered In
Time)" (due out April 10, 2013) called “Reign On”. “Reign On” has an
amazing sound and I really vibe with it also it should be noted the track “Reign
On” part of Crown Royal’s advertisement campaign was aired during many NBA
events on TV. Also the song “Shine On” feat Bun B is a track to be featured on
the upcoming mixtape K.R.I.T. (King
Remembered In Time. Mike WiLL Made will be the main producer of the mixtape.
With a hot new mixtape and album coming soon Big K.R.I.T. is just living proof that hip hop still flows
in the veins of the newer generation and defiantly should get a listen from
all the hip hop heads out there.
Big Krit Is a true underground artist with love for the game when I throw on some of his music it makes me feel like hip hop is not dead!Honestly I'm glad there is still good music being made he also writes and produces his own music, a entrepreneur in the rap game With some of the truest rhymes of our time.Here is one of my favorite verses by him The song is called Vent.

This is purely art, in my Grandma's household this was surely taught
